FAQ  To Order, Design and Clean bracelets

Q: How do I order?

A: If you would like me to custom design your bracelet, send an email  letting me know what kind of beads, glass or semiprecious stones, and what size you need.   I'll send you scans of beads that are crosses & crucifixes and medals. You choose what you want on your bracelet or bracelets and what size you want.  I'll send you an invoice of your purchase.

You pay through Paypal or by check (although I will not ship until check has cleared)  I can also send you a scan of your bracelet once its made and before it is shipped.

I can order any kind of bead, but some are more expensive than others. I'll let you know about the prices on various beads before you place your order.

You can choose all of the materials on the bracelets or some of them.   You can also choose the colors of the spacer beads (the small beads between the prayer beads)  Or you can leave the decisions about those things up to me.

In the UK & Europe:  Sue does not design or make bracelets.  She distributes bracelets already made by me in the US to stores in the UK. If you want me to design something special for you, contact me and I'll send you the scans to choose your beads, and let you know how much shipping will be.

Q: How do I pay you?

A: For Custom made orders, you can send payment by paypal or personal check.  I will send you the information when you place your order.  I will ship the bracelets when the check clears.  It usually takes 1-3 days to get an order made and shipped if paypal is used, unless a particular kind of bead is out of stock and I have to order it.  That usually adds another 7-10 days for the shipment of beads to arrive.  I will also keep you updated on your order. Q:  How do I clean the bracelets?  Can I wear them in the shower?

A:  The painted Economy beads and the painted glass pearls should never be worn in the shower or bath, because the paint will wear off much faster that way.

The Czech pressed Glass beads should be fine, although any Aurora Borealis type of coating may scratch and fade over time.  Constant exposure to minerals in the water could also damage the elastic some.

Semiprecious stone materials have different tolerances in water that contain minerals and with chemicals in soaps or shampoos. It would be best not to wear a bracelet made with semiprecious stones or freshwater pearls in the shower or bath.

Clean them with a damp sponge or cloth.  Sweat, perfumes and contact with lotions may affect semiprecious stones and painted beads as well.  Do not use cleaning chemicals on the bracelets, because there is no way to know how any of the materials will react to chemical cleaners, and some chemicals may weaken the elastic.

The elastic that I use has been shown to be tough enough on Sue's original bracelet to  withstand wear 24/7 for over 18 months and endure the rigors of her job as a teacher, home life and use in prayer, but it is elastic and not metal wire so be aware that it can break if stretched too far or worn all of the time.

Some semiprecious stones will naturally fade with exposure to sunlight.  Rose Quartz is one example of stones that will fade.  Keep them out of direct sunlight as much as possible.

Q.  Why Don't I see Children's Sizes anymore?

Well, you can thank the US Congress for that.  They passed a law to 'fix' a problem, but unfortunately, they 'fixed' it good for everyone.

DUE TO the Consumer Product Safety Information Act (CPSIA)  St Hubert's Rosary can no longer market Bracelets or other items for children ages 12 or under.

Congress, in response to the lead & phthalates in Chinese manufactured items, passed CPSIA. It requires ALL items sold to children ages 12 and below to  have a certificate stating that the item has been tested and found free of lead, phthalates and other chemicals.  This takes effect Feb 10, 2009.

Because we are a small family business and cannot afford such a massive expense in testing each item, we can no longer market any item for children ages 12 and under.  Jail time and $100,000 fines are just not something we want to be considering.

Q. I decided to wear my rosary bracelet all the time, even though you said not to wear them in the shower.  Now the elastic is starting to lose its stretch!  I do like wearing it and don't want to buy a new one.  Can you restring it for me?

Yes, I can restring your bracelet for you.  If you live in the US, return it to me, with $4.95  (a $1.50 for the elastic & restringing & $1.75 for return postage and insurance at $1.70)  and I'll restring it for you and send it back.

Just email me first so I know to expect it.
